There are 2 methods in fmcgProducts to delete a product hierarchy.
1. Fill in the end date (D8324/GS1 field ID: 3253)
- Fill in the D8324 field with a future date for all units in the product hierarchy.
- Send the product hierarchy to GS1Trade Sync (the entire hierarchy must be GS1 validated and error-free)
- The product hierarchy will be withdrawn from data recipients and automatically deleted in GS1 when the date arrives
PS! If there are multiple product hierarchies involving the same units, for example, if the same base unit is part of both a 12-pack and a 24-pack case, and only the 24-pack case is being discontinued, then you only need to set the end date for the 24-pack case. This also means that if both cases are being discontinued in this example, the end date must, for system reasons in GS1Trade Sync, first be filled in on the "last hierarchy" where the base is included.
2. Use the "Send withdrawal to GS1" function
The function withdraws the product hierarchy from data recipients and deletes the hierarchy in GS1 immediately. In fmcgProducts, the product hierarchy is saved and can be found in the "Withdrawn" overview.
The function can be used even if the product hierarchy contains errors and is not valid!
PS! Withdrawal can only be performed from the "TOP" of the product hierarchy (pallet, display, case) where the function button is available.
